This doorstop is a great idea. However, their implementation of the concept and the durability of the product are not so good. When working properly the metal bail (like on a fishing reel) alternates between staying up and coming down each time the white plunger/stop is depressed. As long as the door pushed against the stop relatively slowly each time it works as expected. If the spring loaded plunger/stop is not completely depressed the bail will not switch position and the door will bounce off the stop and you will have to try again. Not that big of a deal, however if the door is pushed against the stop to quickly it can bounce back before the bail has a chance to catch the hook portion that is attached to the door resulting in an out of sequence situation. Further attempts to push the door onto the stop result in the hook impacting the closed bail and bouncing off. Once you realize the out of sync situation (typically after a few failed attempts) you have to reach behind the door and manually depress the plunger/stop one time to get things back in sequence. In my experience the unit gets out of sequence at least once a day, which is much to frequent for me. After about 3 weeks of use the unit quit working entirely and the bail failed to switch position no matter how many times the plunger/stop was pushed. I like the idea of this product but would have to recommend looking for something else.
