I purchased this lamp so that I can basically point at the keyboard to use my computer while I have my office lights off. I found that I can concentrate better on the tasks at hand.

Pros:
1- Very flexible, the lamp arm is retractable, can be shorter or longer.
2- The lamp head itself can point left, right, up or down.
3- There is a little metal stick for the user to handle the lamp and moves it around.
4- Clock is quiet, not silent, but quiet and very clear.
5- Looks cool.

Cons:
1- Head gets very hot, since it is Halogen lamp.
2- Large power supply that also gets hot.
3- Uses more power than the newer technology like LED or CFL, on the other hand I like the light from this better than the bluish LED light.
4- The base is kind of light, I might put some Velcro on the bottom to make it stay when I handle the head.
