Product Description

The Sandusky Lee BQ10351384-09 Snapit bookcase is made of steel for strength, has five adjustable shelves with a 200-lb. capacity per shelf, is powder-coated to resist chipping and corrosion, and is suitable for organizing and storing books, reference materials, binders, and other office materials. The shelves in this bookcase adjust in 2" increments to accommodate items of varying heights. The bottom surface on this bookcase is raised and level with the front lip for ergonomic purposes and it can be used as a sixth shelf.

The bookcase measures 84 x 34-1/2 x 13 inches (H x W x D). (H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.) The bookcase complies with American National Standards Institute/Business and Institutional Furniture Manufacturers Association (ANSI/BIFMA) standards for shelves. The bookcase requires some assembly. Instructions and hardware for assembly are included. Tools for assembly are sold separately.

This is a great bookcase. I have owned several wooden bookcases over the years and the shelves tend to sag a bit with the weight of books and such which is why I went with a steel one this time. Very glad I did. The assembly was very easy and SHOULD require no tools. However, mine arrived at my door with a few dings in it so some of the steel corners were bent. So what I used was a rubber mallet and some pliers to bend them back and it was fine. Assembly took me about 45 minutes due to me doing it by myself and because of the bends in the metal. But if you were to get this in perfect condition and have two people assembling it, it would probably only take 10 minutes to put together with no tools. The shelf looks great and is very sturdy. I'll be picking up a couple more of these down the road.
