If you look at the pictures, the laptop stand is represented as being able to hold a laptop off your lap (in the air so to speak) and at a specific angle. However, it does not do so. It is so poorly made that my Toshiba laptop, which is heavier than my netbook, floats down to my lap. It does hold the small netbook in place but not the heavier laptop. I've kept it because I can still use it and it makes using the computer in bed easier, however, I would have thought it could have been made much better for the price. Very flimsy, very cheaply made.
