The lamp is on my desk and has earned compliments from guests walking past the study. The switch is easily accessible and I use a CFL bulb which doesn't create a big heat build-up. I did have to adjust it to almost a straight down position as the glare from the inner surface of the shade was a bit bothersome for my liking. It has a nice solid look to it.
