This Hon chair came to me in a huge box nearly completely assembled. All I had to do was stick the seat onto the base and add wheels. It was so intuitive that assembly instructions were completely unnecessary and thus not included. No tools were needed. Just snap everything together.

This is the most adjustable chair I've ever owned. It took a little bit of fiddling to figure out all its features. Although assembly instructions were not needed, it would have helped if the manufacturer had a little diagram of what it can do somewhere on the box.

1) The chair has a ratchet mechanism for raising and lowering the seatback. Just pull the seatback up to raise it to the desired height. Pull it all the way up to release the mechanism and lower it back down to its lowest height.

2) The armrests can be raised and lowered. There is a button underneath each armrest that's somewhat hidden. Just push and adjust.

3) For folks who want a wider seat, the armrests can be extended outwards. There is a lever beneath the seat under each armrest for that. Push the lever to adjust armrests.

4) The seat has a pneumatic lift that is a function of many office chairs. The lever is underneath the seat.

5) The tilt tension is adjustable through a large knob under the seat.

6) The chair can be locked in the upright position. Do this by pushing the lever (same one used for the pneumatic lift) inwards. To unlock and allow the chair to recline, pull the lever outwards.

This is a cloth-covered chair. The wheels roll smoothly. The seatback at its highest setting reaches to about shoulder height, but it should be adjusted lower for lumbar support. The lumbar support is wonderful. I do wish for a larger seatback, but that's what separates the task chairs from the executive chairs. It's a fine task chair.
