I've lost count of how many black floor lamps we bought over the years. We'd spend $40 per lamp, and they'd wouldn't last. The switch would always break. They would look attractive, with their thick metal pole housing and frosted glass torchiere shade, but I can no longer afford to replace them. I saw these at $20 each, and the lamp looked exactly like a silver one a friend gave me. Since that works well, I decided to get 2 of these. My husband is not crazy about the plastic shade and the super thin pole, but we've been burned so many times, I don't care. I need LIGHT!!! And with the separate task lamp, they are so versatile. You can read well by it or, as I do, put a low watt bulb and leave it on all night for our cats.
