Rubbermaid® Height-Adjustable Tilting Footrest 04653 Review

I recently purchased this foot rest, specifically b/c I needed something that could be adjusted for height. Getting the footrest to raise was easy enough (lift it off the floor by it's edges, and the bottom sort of "drops") - but I can't easily get it to lower, or to adjust to precisely where I need it (right now it's sort of all-up or all-down).

The directions show lifting one edge, then pushing the back edge down, to cause it to collapse - but this seems to work unpredictably for me.

I've got it sitting under my desk at an odd angle now, and am rarely using it, since I haven't been able to get the height adjusted.

I can't recommend anything better (as I'm still looking) - but this is definitely not the solution I was hoping for...
